Ladies and Gentlemen... Make way for Eraserheads...

Eraserheads, or E-Heads was a Filipino rock band of the 90s, formed by Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro. The band is one of the most successful, critically acclaimed, and significant bands in the history of Original Pilipino Music. Eraserheads are also credited for spearheading a second wave of Manila band invasions,[1] paving the way for a host of influential Philippine alternative rock bands.[2]
The band released several singles, albums, and EPs that reached number one. The band achieved critical and commercial success with their third album Cutterpillow, which achieved platinum status several times. Eraserheads received the Viewer's Choice Award for Asia from the MTV Video Music Awards.

For me, Eraserheads is fated to place the OPM Rock music into mainstream... It was still so clear to me, when I was in 1st year high school. Around 1993, I was plain innocent before... kidding... one of my classmate was so serious on playing and strumming his guitar. The song is "Toyang". It's actually a Tagalog pronunciation of "too young". That is the very first time I got the interest to play the guitar... The memories were still so clear and I am so proud to be a part of this wonderful era of Rock music.

Those are the years, where me and my classmates (boys), gathered ourselves during class breaks under the mango trees, waiting shades, on the entrance of the high school building and of course inside the classrooms... Sometimes, 2 persons were playing their guitars and all of us were in unison singing these famous music of our taste.

These were the gen-ex years of Grunge and Alternative rock music ruling the charts such as Billboards and radio frequencies all over the world. Imagine a very standard way of life, without internet, and computers were still not included in home appliances... But these were the trends before... And yes, time had its course of what will and how will...

Now, lets go back to the image on top of this post. That is among the very first photo of the band. I can still remember when these guys visited our classmates place back when i was still in freshmen year in high school. My classmate's brother is Marcus Adoro... Hahaha! Yes... We are all so excited to have a glimpse of the group. But unfortunately, when we arrived. The guys were all sleeping, because of their concert tours. Yes my school is one of the very lucky school to have University of the Philippines graduates College and High School Professors, UST graduates teachers and so on...

That's it for now and I think I will post my band's concert video covering Huwag Kang Matakot of Eraserheads...

Here it is:

This is one of our entries in this battle of bands that took place last 2006. Unfortunately, the only recorded video was this one, the reason is there is no enough disk space that time. Because my cousin took so many videos before we played this song. The audio is so garbled, until the chorus part. These were my relatives and few were friends.

We landed at the 2nd place in this competition and there is a follow up happened during May that year. We performed different cover and its The Calling - Stigmatized. We had a video, but I have to ask permission first.
